1. INTRODUCTION

Tania's Book Club ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Tania's Book Club mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app.

This app is invite-only and intended for members of Tania's Book Club only.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We collect the following information when you create an account and use the app:

- Display name

- Email address

- Password (stored securely via Firebase Authentication — we never see your password)

- Messages and chat content you send

- Book ratings and notes you write

- Reading history you add

- Voting activity

- Book nominations

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use your information solely to operate the app and provide the following features:

- Creating and managing your account

- Displaying your name and activity to other club members

- Enabling chat between members

- Recording votes and nominations

- Storing your personal reading history, ratings, and notes

- Sending push notifications about club activity

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any third parties except as described below.

4. FIREBASE SERVICES

We use Google Firebase to power the app. Firebase handles:

- Authentication (sign in, password reset)

- Database storage (Firestore)

- Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)

5. DATA STORAGE

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase's servers located in the United States. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

6. DATA DELETION

You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app. When you delete your account, all of your personal data including your messages, ratings, notes, reading history, and account information will be permanently deleted.

7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Our app is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

As a US resident you have the right to:

- Access the personal data we hold about you

- Request deletion of your personal data

- Contact us with any privacy concerns

9. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS

We send push notifications to alert you about club activity such as voting openings, winner announcements, new messages, and new members. You can disable push notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings.

10. LOCATION DATA

We do not collect or track your location.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the date at the top of this policy.
